Kara Glynn is a producer and art buyer living New York City. A Boston native, Kara studied English Literature at Kenyon College, and it is here that her passion for photography grew into what became the start of her career.
Upon graduation from Kenyon, Kara worked for the legendary photographer Richard Avedon. It is in the Avedon studio where Kara cut her teeth in the world of photography and worked her way to become Avedon’s first camera assistant and master printer.
After four years with Avedon, Kara moved on to work further behind the scenes at Industria Superstudio as their studio manager and booker. From here Kara moved on to work with the photographer Annie Leibovitz as her studio manager and executive producer.
After leaving the Leibovitz Studio, Kara started her own production company. Over a decade in the industry, Kara has accumulated invaluable experience in the field of photography. Working both behind the camera and behind the scenes at various high level studios, Kara has insider’s knowledge on what it takes to produce a photo shoot both in the editorial and commercial space. Over the years, Kara has produced photo and TV shoots domestically and internationally, acted as Art Buyer on the agency side, and consulted with various brands. Kara’s long history in the commercial and art world provides her with a unique sensibility she brings to all productions.
